The Teachings of Dr Sutherland Part 1:
An Introduction to the Primary Respiratory Mechanism
This course is the first of a two part series that will allow you to understand and utilise the teachings of Dr. William Garner Sutherland. This course will be a pre-requisite for future courses such as Part 2 of this series and Cranio-Dental 1 & 2.
What better way is there to celebrate summer than spending it in this stunning location, directly between tea tree lakes and the stunning beachside of Lennox Head, NSW.

Date: Friday 24th to Sunday 26th February, 2017
Location: Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre, Lennox Head, NSW.
With a strong emphasis on practical application, we will look at:
• the cranial base
• palpation of cranial base strains
• the treatment of the occiput and the vault
• venous sinus drainage
• palpation and treatment of the corelink and how it affects the three diaphragms
• assessment and treatment of the pelvis and upper cervicals
You will learn Dr Sutherland's integrative approach to treatment of these areas using techniques such as Osteopathy in the Cranial Field and Balanced Ligamentous Tension. This course will be followed by Part 2 on Friday 28th to Sunday 30th April 2017 which will look further into the growing child, the cranial base and the face as taught by Dr. Sutherland.
Open to registered osteopaths and osteopathic students in their final two years of study.
We are very spoilt to have access to such a beautiful location. This is the view directly from our conference room over the tea tree lake.
Shared Lodging - If you are staying on-site in our beachside lodge, you will be staying in one of 4 shared rooms, with a lounge and kitchen/dining area that opens right out onto the beach. Shared lodging is included in student and new graduate rates, and is available for $200 for two nights for registered osteopaths (please book separately at Book Online section if you are a registered osteopath wishing to take up this offer).
Cabins - There are various cabins available to hire on-site, with private beach access and use of all facilites. Please contact the venue directly to book these.
The facilities we can use include the swimming pool and tennis court, whilst the tea tree lake and beach border both sides of the property.
Off site accommodation - There are multiple private accommodation options in Lennox Head and surrounding areas such as Byron Bay which is 20 minute drive or Ballina a quick 15 minute drive. Try sites such as www.airbnb.com.au or www.wotif.com.au.
Registered Osteopaths - $1350 which includes course cost (approx 22 hours CPD), morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. No accommodation is included in this cost. If you wish to stay in the shared lodging please book it separately at the Book Online section when you register for the course. Shared lodging is $200 for two nights including breakfast. Limited private cabins are available through the venue directly.
New Graduates (completed 2014 & 2015) - $985 which includes course cost (approx 22 hours CPD), breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Two nights ccommodation is included in this cost. Limited private cabins are available through the venue directly.
First Year Graduate (completed 2016) - $650 which includes two nights accommodation, course cost (approx 22 hours CPD), breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Limited private cabins are available through the venue directly.
Students (final two years of study) - $525 which includes two nights accommodation, course cost, breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Limited private cabins are available through the venue directly.
Cancellation with less than 90 days' notice will incur a $50 cancellation fee
Cancellation with less than 30 days' notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of course fees
Cancellation with 7 days or less notice will incur a cancellation fee of the full course fee
